Compliance demonstrates StackState’s commitment to maintaining effective controls around systems and operations involving customer data

BOSTON & HILVERSUM, NETHERLANDS – August 2, 2022 – StackState, the only topology-powered observability company, announced it has achieved compliance for both System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) Type 2 and SOC 3. The certifications attest to the company’s controls around securing customer data and were achieved through a rigorous audit process conducted by an independent third-party. Controls around the security of customer information are particularly important for vendors like StackState that provide a SaaS offering.

SOC 2 compliance demonstrates that an organization has key controls and objectives in place to safeguard information and that the controls are effective. SOC 2 reports are a globally recognized standard that are based on the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' (AICPA) existing Trust Services Criteria (TSC). The purpose of the report is to evaluate an organization’s information systems relevant to five trust criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy of information and systems. The SOC 2 attestation is renewed annually.

The main difference between the two standards is the SOC 2 report is a highly detailed report containing confidential information about the security controls StackState has in place. StackState will supply customers and prospects with its SOC 2 report, but only once a fully executed StackState NDA is in place. The SOC 3 report is a public-facing report and is available directly from the StackState website.

“Data security is a critical issue for our customers. Engaging in the rigorous audit process necessary to attain SOC 2 and SOC 3 compliance highlights StackState’s deep commitment to protecting our customers’ data,” said Martin van Vliet, vice-president of engineering, StackState. “By adhering to accepted industry standards, such as SOC 2, it sends a strong message to our customers that we care about their data and the protection of it.”
