A Message from StackState’s CEO, Andreas Prins
Ever since I joined StackState almost three years ago, I knew we were onto something. Something that could change the way engineers observe, troubleshoot, and optimize their environments. Something that would transform your understanding of your entire infrastructure. As CEO for the last 18 months, I've seen our platform evolve into the next generation, making it truly powerful for our users.
I couldn’t be prouder to share today’s news: StackState has been acquired by SUSE and will become the main observability engine in the Rancher platform. With this acquisition, SUSE’s flagship Enterprise Container Management (ECM) solution Rancher Prime not only boasts strong security capabilities but now extends into the realm of observability.
This achievement is a true team effort. Having a vision as a company is one thing, but executing it is another. You need a dedicated and smart team to make this happen, and we did. Thank you, team.
Starting today, we’ll continue our journey under the wings of SUSE and their ECM business. This will allow us to bring our capabilities to all Rancher Prime users and expand our R&D efforts to further develop our observability features.
In the past months, engaging with SUSE colleagues, customers, and partners, we’ve learned that three main capabilities are particularly helpful to Rancher Prime users:
Out-of-the-box visual understanding of how all resources in an entire environment connect, achieved through topology that is created without any manual effort. These extensive dependency maps are the foundation for deep understanding and essential for troubleshooting.
Out-of-the-box dashboards that correlate metrics, events, logs, and traces from almost any resource in your cluster, providing a very accurate understanding of how all your components are operating.
40 common observability policies and remediation guides that detect and guide engineers towards the cause of issues, enabling swift resolution.
There’s obviously much more to say about this acquisition, including our future integration with NeuVector and other components of the ECM portfolio. So, stay tuned, subscribe to our social channels, or reach out to me directly.
I’d like to close with a big thank you: thank you to the SUSE team for your trust in recent months, thank you to our board for supporting this journey over the last nine years, and last but not least, a big shout out to all my colleagues. I can’t wait to work and grow further together as we enter this next stage.
Warm regards,
Andreas
